Hong Kong Cycling Association aims to stage international road race

A plan is under way to stage an international road race next year which, if successful, may pave the way for Hong Kong as host of the Asian Championships.

A route starting at Ting Kau Bridge, taking in Tuen Mun Road, Castle Peak Road and Tsuen Wan Road, is being studied by the Hong Kong Cycling Association (HKCA).

“Road racing is always popular in cycling and we haven’t had an international race since the last Tour of the South China Sea in 2010,” said HKCA chairman Leung Hung-tak, who was the Hong Kong road race team captain during his riding career more than two decades ago.

We are trying to raise the money among our senior officials or commercial sponsors interested in promoting cycling
