Report: Phillies Listening To Offers For Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels

CBS Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – With Roy Halladay’s retirement, and today’s report from baseball’s Winter Meetings, the Phillies could go from the five aces they had just a few years back, to zero aces.

The Phillies are willing to trade starting pitchers Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports. Heyman says that the Phillies are unwilling to eat any part of the contract of either player.

This comes just a day after word that the Phillies are actively shopping Domonic Brown.

Hamels is entering the second year of a six-year, $144 million deal. Lee has two years left at $25 million per year, and an option year at $27.5 million or a team buyout of $12.5 million
