BOSTON (CBS) — With some injuries piling up at wide receiver, the Patriots are welcoming back a player to whom they just recently said farewell.
Austin Collie has re-signed with the Patriots, just one month after the team released the wide receiver.
Collie, 28, played in four games for the Patriots. Though he only made three catches for 34 yards, he played a key role in the Patriots’ comeback victory over the Saints on Oct. 13, when he caught two passes for 24 yards, including a nine-yard reception on a fourth-and-4 at the New Orleans 26-yard line.
Collie suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Patriots’ rout of the Steelers on Nov. 3, and he was released by the team two days alter.
Collie has caught 176 career passes for 1,879 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career, which has been interrupted multiple times due to concussions.
